Belmont Homes

Logo Design & Brand Guidelines

Belmont Homes is a non-profit housing program located in Lumberton NJ, serving the Burlington County area. This was a team project at Rider University, and consisted of developing a brand identity and marketing plan for this organization. After doing research with my team, I took on the responsibility of developing a logo and a full set of brand guidelines for Belmont Homes. This project placed 3rd in the 2013 SBI Consulting Project of the Year (POY) Competition

Logo Design

The Belmont Homes logo design incorporates several key elements to depict Belmont Homes’ commitment to eliminating homelessness in NJ, and to their organizational values of trustworthiness, resilience, and compassion.

The key elements included are: the rooftop, symbolizing security and comfort; the person, symbolizing the human element; the half circle, symbolizing community and family as well as connecting to the rooftop to establish a feeling of wholeness; and the overall “upward” look of the logo, giving the notion of moving forward, personal success, and achievement.

Brand Guidelines

A full set of brand guidelines was developed for Belmont Homes. This part of the project served several key purposes for the organization and their future marketing efforts. First, it defined exactly what the organization’s vision, mission, and values should be, as well as how they should be presenting their organization to the public and what voice they should be using. Second, it provided a logo, color palette, typography, and graphic themes for the organization to use. Lastly, it provided guidelines on how to properly implement these items. All in all, this document served as the organization’s new guidebook for all future marketing efforts, aiding in keeping their brand consistent and relevant.
